Dr Mohiuddin Ahmed, Senior Lecturer of Computing and Security at Edith Cowan University, is safeguarding Australia’s digital future by strengthening resilience against cybercrime. Every year, Australians lose billions of dollars to sophisticated cyberattacks that threaten privacy, disrupt essential services, and endanger national security.

Dr Ahmed’s research focuses on disrupting the cybercrime ecosystem through advanced analytics, education, and strategic collaboration. Working with Australia’s national science agency, law enforcement, and industry partners, he leads research on Dark Web analytics for ransomware threat profiling, cyber risk quantification for critical infrastructure insurance, cyber espionage wargaming, scam gamification, and explainable data analytics for illicit cryptocurrency transactions.

Alongside his research, Dr Ahmed is dedicated to training the next generation of cyber leaders ensuring Australia’s workforce is prepared to defend critical infrastructure and maintain a secure, resilient digital ecosystem.
